Lyran’s yearly activities include new concert projects as well as a number of annual performances. The Christmas concerts, the spring matinee and the summer concert are yearly joint projects with Lyran's brother choir, the Academic Male Voice Choir of Helsinki (Akademen).

The St. Lucia festivities in Finland begin with Lucia’s coronation in the Helsinki Cathedral. Alongside the Lucia choir, Lyran performs a number of Christmas songs to accompany Lucia as she brings light in the darkest time of the year. The ceremony begins at 5 pm, and at 6 pm, Lucia walks down the Cathedral steps leading a procession through the city centre. Hundreds of Helsinki residents attend this event every year.
